Hannalore Tice, Owner

Boston for the Dogs is the brainchild of Hannalore, born out of a lifetime of loving and caring for animals. She brings an unparalleled passion and devotion to her business marked by an unconditional, unapologetic, fierce love for each dog.

She is an active member of the Roslindale community and her social media content cultivates a family atmosphere and network of dog lovers.

With a background apprenticing with various trainers, Hannalore has gained a skillset of basic obedience to match her love of all breeds.  She is continuously adapting her services to meet the diverse needs of her clientele, and is willing to work with you to best serve your dog. By personally scheduling each dog, Hannalore is able to evaluate and modify each plan to provide the most reliable, loving pet service tailored to each client.

When not hanging out with your dogs, Hannalore enjoys craft beer, hiking and spending time with the BFTD family.

Corey Shields, Owner

If Hannalore is the wind behind Boston for the Dogs, then Corey is the windmill. With 4 years of canine handling under his belt, Corey joined Boston for the Dogs as a co-operator and part owner in 2016.  He has a background in basic obedience training but his real gift lies in his calm approach that makes both humans and dogs feel comfortable. He has a knack for house training puppies and dogs and has successfully fostered multiple rescue dogs.

Corey offers a patient, understanding approach to everything he does and loves assisting families in their transition to dog ownership. Corey loves working with large breed dogs, and a has a knack for dealing with some of our most difficult cases. Dogs come home after Corey's hikes feeling happy and exhausted, which is a delight to both dog and human.

Corey enjoys craft beer, shoe shopping, history and charcuterie.

Gian Gonzalez, Walker

Gian was the first employee of Boston for the Dogs, and joined the pack in 2013. Inspired by the success he achieved (with the help of Hannalore) in training his own skittish pup, Gian brings his ever-positive attitude to help dogs be their best selves. His gentle, calm demeanor coupled with a strong presence gives him the edge over timid and untrusting dogs, allowing him to diffuse tense situations with grace.

Everyone (both dogs and humans) inevitably falls for his quiet confidence and winning smile. Gian is able to handle some of the most challenging pups with ease, assisting them in gaining  the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

Cara Wehmhoefer, Trainer + Hiker

Cara joined in March of 2018 with an interest in balanced dog training. Having just graduated from Berklee College of Music, she was looking to get back to her animal loving roots. When she did one day of training with Corey, she knew that she had struck gold with Boston For The Dogs. After lots of shadowing and Practice in the Parks, she is now an apprentice trainer under Ejay along with being a hiker and walker! Her main interests lie in game play and she plans to learn more about sport work so she can integrate it into the real world training we do at BFTD. She has a goofy and fiery shepherd mix named Jonas, whom she adopted from Corey and Hannalore. She loves craft beer (like the fam), hiking, playing music, and spending all her money at Trader Joe's. She cannot wait to continue growing with BFTD!

Ejay Eisen, Trainer + Hiker

Ejay Eisen first started working with animals at the age of 15 and has dedicated his life to them ever since. He has nearly 2 decades of work with animals, through boarding, walking, training and even has his own sustainable livestock operation and in-home boarding/training facility. Ejay lives with his wife, his service dog Rio, their working therapy dog, Swanson, their part-time garbage disposal dog, Badger and two senior kitties.

Ejay is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and is familiar with all tools and modes of training from puppy basics all the way through service dogs, with a particular focus in PTSD medical service dog training. He is proficient in e-collars, off-leash training, severe  behavior modification and foundation training for agility and nose work. He is also certified in pet first aid, and has completed the Dog Cognition program through Duke University and is always seeking to add more knowledge to his training style!

In his free time, Ejay and his wife enjoy roller derby—he as a traveling skating official and she as a competitive skater. Ejay is beyond thrilled to join the Boston for the Dogs Team, and can’t wait to start hiking and training your dog!

Madi Muther, Walker/Hiker

Madi grew up in a house full of pets and has always had a soft spot for dogs. In addition to her own pack, Madi has fostered many dogs through various rescues, which resulted in several new family members. After moving to Boston and getting her degree from Wheelock College in Elementary Education, Madi worked in a preschool and before following her dream of spending every day working with dogs! Madi hopes that in addition to being part of the BFTD walk team, she'll be able to learn more about training

When Madi isn't out with the team, you can find her working with her own two dogs, Diesel and Daisy, searching for the best Mexican food in the Greater Boston Area, or enjoying the beaches in New Hampshire.

Hannah Goehner, Walker

“Study. Pups. Sleep. Repeat.” This has been Hannah’s motto since her undergrad days in North Dakota, where she began dog walking and pet sitting when not studying. In 2015, she and her family moved to Boston for school opportunities and her partner’s work. She continued to dog walk and pet sit through Rover until 2019. While she enjoyed the time she spent with her clients and their pets, she felt it was time to learn about dog handling and training. That’s when she found Boston For the Dogs. Currently, Hannah is also working towards her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and is grateful for the opportunity to pursue both of her passions: mental health and dogs. In her free time, Hannah enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and cuddling with her two pups, Knox and Essex.

ThyDoanGraves_Photo.jpg

Thy Doan Graves, Walker

Born and raised in California, sprinkled with some time in Utah, Thy (pronounced like “T”) moved to Boston in 2014 with her letterpress printing husband and two lab mix dogs. She’s an independent graphic designer contracting part-time with Reebok, as well as working with her own clients who range from outdoor to food industries. She joined BFTD to break away from being at the computer all day and to improve dog handling and training skills. BFTD has cultivated such an incredible community and mission, so being a part of it and getting to know the amazing people within the tribe is a privilege to her. When she’s not working, Thy enjoys record store diving, reading books and planning future travels abroad.

Beverly Reynolds, Walker

Having spent her summers growing up in the White Mountains, Bev has always loved the outdoors and was excited to explore the Rockies when she moved to Colorado for college.  Although the hiking out West was undoubtedly beautiful, she missed being able to hike with her favorite four-legged friends. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she moved back home to Boston, where she now takes every opportunity to head to New Hampshire and get outside with her family’s two corgis, Teeka and Roger.  Having rescued both dogs, Bev appreciates how rewarding it is to earn the trust of a furry friend and to put in the work to help them become their best self. She is so excited to join BFTD, learn from the team, and work with some awesome dogs!

Leritza Ruiz, Walker + Sitter

Leritza is a dog lover with a huge soft spot for sighthounds. She has experience fostering and training psychiatric service dogs in Western Massachusetts. At BFTD, she’s excited to develop new skills with a diverse group of dogs and people. As much as she loves her Italian Greyhound mix Chico, spending time with the BFTD pack brightens up her day. She is currently majoring in Microbiology and Social Thought & Political Economy at UMass Amherst. In her free time, Leritza loves to go to concerts and watch Scrubs.

Dani Clark, Sitter

Originally from rural New Jersey, Danielle moved to New Hampshire to attend film school. After graduating and commuting to Boston for a few years, she moved to Massachusetts to start a full time job as a labor coordinator for special events. Despite working in a dog-friendly building, she still needed more dogs in her life, so joining BFTD as a sitter was an easy decision! In her free time, Danielle is an avid Netflix binge-watcher, a true crime fanatic, and collects license plates.

Sam Martinez, Walker + Sitter

After attending BU and NYU, Sam was a sports writer for nearly four years before she decided to pursue her passion: working with dogs. Sam boarded and walked dogs independently with Rover for two years before taking it on full time with Boston for the Dogs. She boards in her apartment with her husband (who obsesses over the pups as much as she does) and wants to learn more about training from the BFTD fam.

When Sam isn't walking your dogs, she's most likely watching the Red Sox, Patriots, or Celtics. Sam also loves cooking, writing, going to national parks, Marvel movies, and Beyonce.

Serena Gorash, Walker + Sitter

Serena joined the Boston For The Dogs team officially in 2018 but has been a part of the family since her mother, Melissa Gorash, joined in 2015.  She currently attends Suffolk University and is pursuing a major in finance. Serena has an unbreakable bond with just about every dog she comes in contact with, which makes her a great fit for the team. Her calm, responsible, and mature approach make her an ideal handler, and her positive and supportive energy make her an asset to the team. Serena cannot wait to learn more about each type of dog and the skills it takes to work with every one of them. In her free time, she loves to obsess over the Patriots, cook for her family, go to the movies and make crafts.

Fatima Mejia, Walker + Sitter

In addition to walking your dogs, Fatima is currently working on an associates degree in entrepreneurship. During her free time, she loves to work on a variety of artwork, including mixed media work, painting, drawing, and tattooing. She loves going out to eat and watching sports (especially football) with her family. Her favorite part of the day is coming home to her Belgian Malenoa, Cosmo. Although he can be a big troublemaker and a loudmouth, Cosmo has taught her a lot about herself, and shown her that the patience and dedication in taking care of a “bad dog” do pay off.

Sarah Printy, Walker + Sitter

Sarah has a degree in architecture from Northeastern University and has been working in the design and construction world since graduation in 2016. While working full time in Design & Construction and now working towards a Masters of Architecture, she knew her life was still missing something: dogs. She joined BFTD to fill that void and now enjoys taking homework breaks with some puppy therapy, while continuing to grow her dog handling and training skills. For Sarah, nothing is more calming than snuggling on the couch with a pup or going for a hike in the woods with a few four legged friends. In her very limited free time, she also figure skates and fantasizes about where in the world she will travel next.

Eliana Paniagua, Weekend Walker + Sitter

Eliana received a dual undergraduate degree in Politics and History in May 2018. Shortly after, she adopted her own dog, Lucky Duck. This was inspired by her first dog in life. Eliana grew up with a sassy miniature schnauzer named Cicci who lived until she was 15. Cicci is the reason for Eliana's current love of animals. In particular, Eliana has a soft spot for dogs with a rough past. She's incredibly patient and willing to learn each dog's distinct personality. Eliana works full-time as an Administrative Assistant at Social Finance during the week and enjoys spending evenings and weekends with the BFTD family and her own dog.

Rachel Felson, Walker + Sitter

Rachel received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Simmons College and is currently in grad school at Tufts, where she’s doing her second year of clinical rotations and studying to become a Physician Assistant. Rachel grew up with two dogs who she misses greatly since moving out on her own. As a result, she volunteered for a dog rescue and walked dogs part time before moving to JP and finding BFTD. When she is not studying, she enjoys cooking and baking, hiking with any dog who is willing to join her, and snuggling up on the couch.

Madeline Davis, Sitter

Hey fellow dog lovers! My name is Madeline, and I'm a college graduate who just moved from sunny Southern California. My main interests are animals, nature, and psychology, and I'm combining all three of those by working for BTFD while studying to attend grad school in counseling psychology in the next couple of years! I've lived around animals all my life, and can't wait until the day I can adopt a dog. For now, I've got two sweet cats that both fell into my life by serendipity. In my free time, you can find me exploring Boston (especially restaurants and cool outdoor spots), playing video games, reading, and finding new ways to volunteer and give back to my community. Jamaica Plain has been so great to me and I couldn't ask for a better home! I'm looking forward to meeting and spending time with all your furry friends!
